THE OPPORTUNITY
Empower Simcoe is seeking a dynamic and visionary Director, Finance and Technology to oversee and manage all financial and IT operations within the organization. This key leadership role will be responsible for driving financial strategy, ensuring the integrity of financial operations, and leveraging technology to enhance service delivery. The ideal candidate will be committed to continuous innovation and operational excellence, while aligning with our values and mission.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and manage the financial and IT operations, ensuring they align with Empower Simcoe’s mission and strategic goals.
- Lead a high-performing Finance and IT team (15 persons), fostering an inclusive and supportive work environment.
- Collaborate with senior leadership and external stakeholders, including funders, to ensure financial and technological strategies align with overall organizational goals.
- Proactively identify and mitigate financial and IT risks while ensuring continuous improvement of systems and processes.
- Develop and implement effective financial strategies that support the organization’s growth and sustainability.
- Oversee the preparation of financial reports, budgets, and forecasts, ensuring financial goals and regulations are met.
- Supervise and manage IT infrastructure, ensuring systems and software are optimized for operational success.
Ensure compliance with relevant financial standards, cybersecurity protocols, and operational guidelines.
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- Education: University degree in Business, Accounting, Computer Science, or a related field.
- CPA designation required.
- Experience: A minimum of 7 years of related experience, including at least 5 years in senior management roles with a focus on financial and IT operations, ideally including with the not-for-profit or public sector.
- Strong financial management, budgeting, and forecasting skills.
- Proven experience in leading technology transformation and managing IT infrastructure.
