Responsibilities:
Responsible for identifying and achieving best cost savings for direct and indirect spend, process purchase orders, conduct data analysis, forecast purchasing needs
Purchase raw material, non-raw material, goods and services according to the company’s policies and procedures.
Prepare and dispatch purchase orders by verifying order specifications and obtain approval from requisitioning department as required.
Coordinate with Production, Q.C. and Planning in order to maintain inventory levels and evaluate vendors based on price, reliability, capability, and previous transaction history.
Work with vendors to negotiate volume, price, and product specifications and vendor samples for production and experimental needs.
Ensure purchasing documents are complete and accurate and maintain pricing histories and other vendor card records.
Analyze market trends and formulate coverage strategies for categories under management.
Identify additional cost savings initiatives that require key stakeholder’s participation.
Maintain contract adherence ensuring compliance with terms of contract and/or pricing agreement and track all realized benefits and cost savings.
Assist in the preparation of presentations/reports as requested for use by Senior Leadership and other management groups.
Resolve quality and supply issues including rejected deliveries from end to end.
Utilize ERP and contracts systems.
At times visit vendor locations as required, domestically and internationally.
Requirements:
Bachelors Degree in business, materials management, operations management, or related field
2+ years of purchasing experience in manufacturing, preferably fragrance
Working Knowledge of general purchasing principles, practices and procedures.
Strong problem-solving skills with ability to work under tight deadlines, in a fast-paced environment.
